On the activities undertaken and further steps for the protection and conservation of the mosque in tabanovce

1. Current Situation and Activities Carried Out
As part of the institutional commitment to the protection, preservation and valorisation of cultural heritage, concrete activities concerning the Mosque in Tabanovce have been undertaken to date, in cooperation with the competent institutions.
The following activities have been carried out so far:
– A report assessing the actual condition of the building has been prepared by the National Conservation Center.
– A field visit and professional assessment were carried out by representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the National Conservation Center, the Cultural Heritage Protection Office and the Mufti’s Office of Kumanovo.
– The National Conservation Center has prepared and submitted an application for the relevant conservation project.
– With the involvement and support of the Mufti’s Office of Kumanovo, the area surrounding the building has been cleaned as one of the initial measures aimed at improving its condition and creating the necessary conditions for subsequent interventions.
2. Further Steps
Following the completion of the conservation project, which will encompass all relevant professional, technical and necessary interventions, the possibilities for carrying out specific conservation and construction works on the building will also be considered.
Any potential construction or conservation intervention will be carried out in a coordinated and continuous manner, in close cooperation with:
– The professional team of the National Conservation Center;
– The Ministry of Culture and Tourism;
– The Mufti’s Office of Kumanovo.
The objective is to ensure that all interventions comply with professional conservation standards, while fully respecting the historical, architectural and cultural values of the building.
3. Improvement of Road Access
Another important issue concerning the functionality of the site and facilitating access to the building is the improvement of the access road leading to the Mosque in Tabanovce.
In this regard, the Municipality of Kumanovo will be formally requested to consider and undertake appropriate measures to improve the road access to the mosque, within the scope of its competences and available resources.
4. Conclusion
The commitment to the Mosque in Tabanovce represents an important example of inter-institutional cooperation and shared responsibility in the protection of cultural heritage.
The priorities remain the continuation of coordination among the competent institutions, the finalisation of the relevant documentation and the professional conservation project, as well as the establishment of the necessary conditions for implementing the subsequent phases of conservation and valorisation of this monument of historical and cultural significance.
The ultimate objective is to preserve the authenticity and historical values of the Mosque in Tabanovce, while ensuring the conditions for its long-term protection and presentation to future generations.
